Community Team Involvement Challenge

Nov. 02, 2019

Sturgeon Hockey Club wants to encourage teams to get involved in their community. Volunteering together as a team helps children learn they can make a positive difference in the lives of others. It also helps strengthens relationships in ways no other activity can while also teaching leadership, compassion, empathy, tolerance, gratitude and community responsibility.

There are many ways your team can get involved. Clean up the environment, organize a clothing or food drive, volunteer to help seniors citizens, perform random acts of kindness, raise money for a local charity or simply donate time to help those in need. No matter how big or small the contribution, your team will be making a positive impact in the community we are so proud to be members of.

To show our support, SHC will award prizes to two teams during the 2019/2020 season. Prizes will include a team pizza party and one full ice time slot paid for by SHC! Teams must submit their community involvement activities to waysandmeansdirector@sturgeonhockeyclub.com. The Board of Executives will judge all of the submissions and choose the winners. Deadline for the first challenge is December 31, 2019.
