Interested in Playing AA Hockey?

Jul. 18, 2021

The Sturgeon Sting is looking to grow its AA program and inviting players to try-out for its U13, U15 and U18 teams this September.

The Sturgeon Sting is a AA hockey program consisting of elite U13, U15 and U18 aged players based in Morinville. The Sturgeon Sting program draws elite level players from 7 minor hockey associations in the region: CR Knights Minor Hockey Association (Calahoo and Riviere Qui Barre), CNN Minor Hockey Association (Bon Accord and Gibbons), Athabasca & District Minor Hockey Association, Westlock Minor Hockey Association, Barrhead Minor Hockey Association, Wabasca/Desmarais Minor Hockey Association and the Sturgeon Hockey Club (Morinville and Legal). The program began play in 2014 with U13, U15 and U18 AA teams and operates under the Sturgeon Hockey Club. The program focuses on skill development of athletes within Hockey Alberta at the regional level while preparing them to go on to play AAA hockey and beyond.

If you are interested in playing elite level hockey this season and were born between 2004-2010, please fill out the Hockey Alberta AA Notification to Tryout Form and submit to registrar@sturgeonhockeyclub.com. If you have any questions about our Sting AA program, please contact Gene Connors, Sturgeon Hockey Club President, at president@sturgeonhockeyclub.com or 780-566-1164.
