Officials Awards

Official of the Year Award

This is awarded to the official who has demonstrated dedication and commitment to his or her role as an official in the Sturgeon Hockey Club.  This official has excelled in his or her duties on the ice and demonstrated a proper attitude as a representative of SHC both on and off the ice. Their commitment goes beyond showing up to the rink and extends to personal growth, professionalism, over coming challenges and giving back to minor hockey and to the official’s program. 

Most Improved Official of the Year Award

This award is presented to the official in the Sturgeon Hockey Club who has proven to be the most improved from the start of the season to the end. The official must have also proven to take their role seriously and be willing to learn and have a positive attitude toward their evaluations and feedback throughout the season.

Officials Mentorship Award

This award was created to award an individual that is committed to developing officials within the Sturgeon Hockey Club recognizing their dedication to mentoring of new and existing officials. It is presented to a leader who demonstrates devotion to mentoring, supervising, and inspiring officiating leadership both on and off the ice.

The recipient of these awards are selected by the Referee in Chief/Assignor.
