President message regarding spam emails asking for gift cards and assistance requests

Good evening everyone,

 

Please disregard if you already received this email from your level director. 

We just wanted to send an email out to everyone that we are well aware of the scam/spam emails that are starting back up again. This normally happens once to twice a year, unfortunately. 

To be clear, Gene will never email anyone in the club to ask for assistance in setting up a bank account, transfer money on his behalf or to buy gift cards, etc.  If he does email you to give him a call, he will provide context, so you know for sure its actually him looking for the call. 

 

One way to verify is to check what email address it is coming from. If you place your curser over "Gene Connors" or whatever name it comes up as.......it will display a weird email that is not his official SHC email address. 

At this time, he will not be responding to everyone who has emailed, texted, and called him regarding this issue. Due to the amount of messages he received, this email is warranted. 

 

But....he did say in his previous emails about this issue.....if the email asks to buy him beer and ceasers...that it is legit! Lol!
