WHAT'S NEW AT STING?  updated May 28, 2023

We are thrilled to announce the following new partnerships that will start this Fall 2023!

MINDBUFFS: Sports Psychology for Athletes. They will work with our athletes by helping them overcome emotional and mental barriers that may interfere with their peak performance. #mentalhealth  more info: MindBuffs

TEAMGENIUS: A powerful platform for efficient tryouts, evaluations and player development. Sting will be using this new platform for the 2023/2024 season.

PERSONAL TRAINER - HUNTER MARSDEN: She has been in the fitness industry for 5 years and has coached high intensity interval training, circuit training, Olympic lifting and sports teams. She played hockey for 15+ years and had the honor to play for the Olds College Broncos Women's hockey team on a hockey scholarship. Hunter can't wait to get started with our athletes at the MLC this fall!

POWER SKATING COACH - MANDY LAYDEN: She brings a wealth of applicable experience to our program. She has worked with 50+ teams over the last 10 years, delivering age appropriate instruction for athletes ranging from U7 to AJHL (Drayton Valley Thunder). Certifications from Canpower, Bracko Hockey, Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta. Her strength is connecting with athletes and building trust... making them feel comfortable while doing uncomfortable things is necessary when delivering challenging skating sessions. Excited to have her as a development partner for the 2023/2024 season!

Thank you to all who participated in our Spring ID camp April 8/9th.  Exciting to see all the talent & all new faces! Look forward to seeing you all at our fall STING tryouts.  Thank you to all our volunteers, cannot do this without you! Registration link will be posted early June!

Thank you to all who attended the goalie camp.  We had a wonderful turnout, we were thrilled to see you all. Huge thanks to our volunteer shooters as well as our Development Staff who make events like these possible!

If goalies are looking for more camps during spring or summer, our goalie development coach Jason Knight will be at almost all skates posted on Ian Gordon Goaltending, please visit: Ian Gordon Goaltending Camps

We will not be having any more STING ID skates, next time we will be out on the ice is at our Conditioning/Prep Skate late August, no confirmed dates.
